I know he is embarrassed about it and it is effecting his self esteem. Our Dr. said the excessive sweating will never go away so I'm searching all of our options. Has anyone had the surgery? Does it work? Is it safe?
Thanks

My 12 year old son has sweaty hands ALL THE TIME! I know he is embarrassed about it and it is effecting his self esteem. I have been sweating for about 50 years (as have most of my siblings and mother). My excessive head sweating is interferring terribly with my life. I recently obtained a high profile job and have to attend many meetings, I try to arrive several minutes early and visit the restroom to cool off! I am trying any and everything to keep cool! I am working with my physician to solve this problem! Has anyone discovered a possible genetic defect link?

Hi! She doesn't specialize in hyperhidrosis but may be able to help. Do me a favor will you and let me know how this pans out?

Hey Scott, I don’t know of a free clinic that could help for excessive sweating, but I do know a website where you ask questions of a real doctor free of charge without any catch – it’s DrMom4you.com. It was mostly armpits; which for a kid in elementary and throughout high school was very embarrassing, which caused anxiety and more “pitting” as people used to call it.
Now my sweating has become much worse. If I exert any energy; be it walking around the block on a semi-cool night I become very warm and sweat. At work, I am very active so I am always extremely warm and sweat profusely, even in air condition. I live in a warm climate, so that doesn’t help at all.
I admit, I drink far too much alcohol, and know that that has a lot to do with some of it. But the sweating started at such an early age… which leads me to believe I have some much more serious issues. I have always been very healthy otherwise. My entire life I’ve rarely gotten sick, not overweight, fairly athletic, no medications. I drink almost a gallon of water a day cause I feel I need to keep hydrated.
I’ve not been to a doctor for years and don’t have insurance. Any suggestions for seeing a free doctor? are there clinics for those without insurance?
Thanks for any input.

I’m now 37 and have always been an excessive sweater, since I can remember as a child.
