From what i've read it seems quite a lot of people started fairly young and have just had to put up with it for years, that's why i'm hoping to nip it in the bud now. I've heard some good stuff about 'witch hazel'.. i would just like to know what type to get.. every shop i look at has loads of products and i wanna get the right one. I haven't spoken to anyone about it before leaving this comment.. Do you think i should talk to my parents? Would you recommend going to see my doctor?
Would be greatly appreciated if someone could reply. Thanks!

Hey, i’m only 17 and i would say its been in the last 6 months i’ve noticed it.. awkward situations.. meeting new people.. etc. When i notice i start sweating i start to think about it then i’m sure it gets worse.. its like a vicious cycle. i’m a really confident and outgoing person but this obviously is having a big impact on me socially.

From what i’ve read it seems quite a lot of people started fairly young and have just had to put up with it for years, that’s why i’m hoping to nip it in the bud now. My facial sweating is so bad now that it is debilitating - sweating from the head, neck and headaches that accompany this which I thought was from me overheating. Does anyone get cold as well and not be able to control this - this has happened to me 3 times where as the heat thing is so regular 2 or 3 times a day.
Also glad to see I am not alone and something can be done - Thank you for posting!

I am so glad I found this site and am now going to make an appointment with the doctor. Hopefully everyone will one day accept it as a valid medical condition rather than a type of a panic attack.

Thanks for posting this. After reading every post here, I am keen to try Certain Dry on my face. However it seems that most people who have done this are men. Are there any women out there who have applied Certain Dry to their faces? I am worried that the product will damage my skin or cause discoloration.
Any feedback is much appreciated!

I too am thankful for this site as the last decade plus has been terrible for me due to sweating of the face, neck, back, behind the knees, inner elbows, upper lip, basically everywhere.

After reading every post here, I am keen to try Certain Dry on my face. I have been thinking that my extreme facial sweating was the cause of panic attacks, social phobia or even PMS! There are certain times of the month when it is worse than others. For example, when I am being singled out in a meeting at work or if I am meeting people for the first time, it all starts with a little upper lip sweat and then it just explodes into a full sweating attack.
My back, stomach, face, scalp, arms and even elbows get soaking wet out of the blue. I can never tell when this is suddenly going to happen so I am always on the edge about being in certain situations. I have taken every anti-depression known to man, but each make my symptoms worse!
Glad to know there are others with sweating issues like me!

Hi. I am desperate for answers and I am so glad I found this site. I found that Drysol and Xertac solved that problem, but the sweating moved to my face after giving birth to my children. I also developed headaches and was prescribed Topimax. The side affect of Topimax is reduced sweating, and it has worked for me. I no longer have facial sweating. Thank God!!! I do sweat, but not as excessive as before, where I would not even leave the house. It really was awful!

I’ve had a serious problem with excess sweating since childhood. It started with my underarms. I am a very outgoing a confident guy but as you all have expressed as soon the sweat starts it's almost a crippling feeling that makes me feel like a looser at times. Just as others have said it mainly happens on first dates, first encounters in social situations, when confronted at work with tough questions, job interviews, etc. Propanol did not work at all.
I tried botox injections in my forehead and cheeks and it decreased the sweat by 95% :) But the downsides are: 1) It was painful as hell having needles stuck in your face, 2) the positive effects of the treatment only lasted me approx 3-4 months, 3) and I couldn't make "surprised" facial expressions since the botox temporarily deadens areas that are treated (a small drawback to staying dry). I was lucky and my benefits paid for it. I want a more long term solution.
You have to be a soldier to get all those needle pricks in your face. It is not pleasant at ALL. I also just ordered Maxim wipes so we shall see if those help also.
Good luck guys!! I feel your pain.

I am a 35 yr old male. I suffer from facial (forehead) sweating. My whole head starts sweating then it gets worst when I try to control it, or when some one gets notice it, how embarrassing. Like last nigh I was going to play poker went there out of no where started sweating, I said I didn't feel good all of the sudden and left. I knew the people don't know why that happened..it happens at weddings or if I'm center of attention its so annoying...when I'm with friends I don't get like this. When I was in school presentations forget about never did them..I dint get like this all the time. At work I'm fine with friend, family...seems like it happens when I'm uncomfortable ..

I am 31 & have become a recluse over the past 3 years i never go out with my friends anymore it just seems pointless as after 20min / Half an hr i am looking like a drowned Rat! It is soul destroying & makes me feel extremely uncomfortable.
I have been on this site before & after reading some of the stories i headed off to see my doctor she gave me the Clonodine but for me it wasn't working ..
I am getting married on the 1st of June & while i should be stressing about things like Dresses/Guest lists & Table Plans i am constantly obsessing & getting real stressed about the The Sweating Face & Head & my Photos :'( I'm so looking forward to the wedding but anxious about the sweating!
Greg i was reading your Post & found it helpful id very much like to give the Glycopyrrolate a go... But what site did you get it from there are that many when i looked.. id rather get the right thing from the Right place.. Can you help please?? Is it not available in the UK???
Surely with so many sufferers out there they should be looking at something that will Help & be available to all!!

Hi everyone i have bee reading through all your posts & i am so glad i am not alone..

I am 31 & have become a recluse over the past 3 years i never go out with my friends anymore it just seems pointless as after 20min / Half an hr i am looking like a drowned Rat! I tried everything to keep my head from overheating and pouring sweat. My face would flush and everyone would look worried and offer me a cold drink. Fanning, misting with cool water, ice neck tie, ice vest - you name it, I tried it. Tried propanolol and glycopyrrolate but didn't work. I was never cold, but summer was the worst.
After lots and lots of Googling I found out about Clonidine.
It has stopped my face from flushing, and with some antiperspirant I hardly sweat at all. It's a blood pressure medication called Catapres that you have to get from your doctor. It helps to reduce the effects of noradrenaline. It does make my mouth a bit dry but chewing gum fixes it easy. And a dry mouth is a tiny price to pay for being happily dry and cool. Hope you all find what works for you :)

For at least 6 years I suffered craniofacial HH.
